The Ranting & Raving!!

By popular demand here are a few more of Joe & Tori's pix. They really turned out darling!! I got more comments on their previous post than any other post ever, so here are some more to enjoy. She is my first customer to buy copyrights ($150.00).

What happen's in Vegas SHOULD stay in Vegas!!

I took a rode trip to Vegas with some friends this weekend. 5 of us vapor locked into a Prius. Heck, it was cheaper on gas!! Although, I now have a huge aversion to male elbows - Mike's in particular. My sister, Ali and her boyfriend Tyson, came down from St. George and met up with us. We stayed at the luxurious Ritz Carlton (half of us on the floor, heck the more the merrier). Way too up scale for a bunch of punk kids. My favorite was when they brought us frozen grapes & pineapple at the pool. My 2nd favorite was when Christina cleared out all the soap in one of the maid carts. (okay honestly, these aren't even close to my 1st and 2nd favorite things that happened but - what happens in Vegas SHOULD stay in Vegas !!) Here are some of my favorite pix from the trip (again, not really my favorite. :)
Enjoy nonetheless!!

Check out Ammon's super rad do!! We spent an entire day at the pool. Umbrella's and 60 sunblock made this possible.

This is what you call Ying Yang!! Mike recently went to Hawaii, I really have no excuse for my paper white skin.

This is a view from the balcony of the Ritz. The hotel was on the shores of Las Vegas Lake. It was a little Oasis!! Lots of really beautiful water fountains.
This is Christina in the most luxurious bathroom I've ever seen. It was in Caesar's Palace. Doesn't she look like a movie star.
Boys, this is what was taking us so long :)

We also made a nice lengthy stop at Sephora. Oh, how I love lip gloss!!

Mark it off my wish list!!

I have a huge crush on my new lens!! Just looking at these photos makes me blush. :) It's a 18-250mm Tamron lens. I got it in Provo at Allan's Camera from the nicest people, I wish they were closer. I've been shopping for a new lab. I'm working on 4 new projects. 1 - I'm revising my circle of friends referral program. 2 - I'm creating a new email newsletter (I'd love to get one out every month). Maybe when Ali moves back up here for college she can help. 3 - A new website, I'll post a sneak peek within the next month or so. Darling Darling is all I say for now 4 - An album maker to help me make killer photo albums. Like I mentioned I'm loving the design stuff and would love to turn them into a Hot Tamale Album. I'll give you little updates as all these projects get underway.

Family Reunion

I took photos at a family reunion tonight. This is the darling Matriarch of all those lovely people. I can not image having all those people be under me in a family tree. Really commendable!! We're having our Hayes family (mom's side) reunion over the 4th of July in Palisades. I'm so looking forward to it. I wish Grandma was going to be there to see all of us and so we could get a picture just like this one. Love you Grandma Hayes!!

Here are some of the candids I caught. All these kids playing, I was in hog heaven!! There are few things better than having a camera at a park full of children.

Heading to Vegas this weekend with some friends. I had totally planned on escaping and leaving Cathy the Camera at home, but with this group of friends I can't resist taking it to document all the funness!! Come back and visit next week. Guaranteed to be entertaining.

The copyright ?

I'm going to start selling my copyright!!! (digital files) This has been hands down the most difficult decision of my entire photography career. It really hard to see all your art work walk out the door on a CD. So many of my mentors said never never sell your rights to your work. However, so many of my customers have requested it. It really has been a forefront issue for the entire time I've been in business. I was at a conference yesterday and they were talking about producing just what your customers want. (she sells her's for $800 a photo - yikes!!) Everything is going digital. The top selling Christmas item for 2007 were digital picture frames. I imagine a time when printed photos are a time of the past, we'll sell digital copies that display on a screen. So, for now I will be selling my copyrights to all my shoots. My regular shoots will sell for $150 and my mini shoots for $75.

Tori & Jo Gett'n Dirty

This was one of my all time favorite shoots. They are a ton of fun, totally hot, they had way crazy rad ideas, they were up for anything and did I mention hot!! I work with Tori at Marriott. She got married a year ago, she had a relative (who was not a wedding photographer) take her wedding photos. Lesson learned!! Here you go Tori - the wedding photos you've always wanted!!
